Getting Started

Create your first build and get to combo damage quickly.

Create your first build

Start from the library, choose a champion, then fill in the build.

  1. Open your library and choose New build.
  2. Pick a champion first so abilities, stats, and champion-specific options can load.
  3. Add items and runes before comparing damage or stat changes.
  4. Open Simulate to check burst combo damage against the configured target.

What to do when the library is empty

Use the empty state as your launch point, not a dead end.

  1. Use New build for a blank theorycrafting setup.
  2. Use the first build guide to pick a champion, try a starter layout, and open Simulate.
  3. Use Import code from the account menu only when another player sent you a build code.
  4. Free accounts can save a starter library; Pro accounts add unlimited cloud builds.

Choose a workspace preset

Pick a simple starting layout before opening every advanced panel.

  1. Balanced is the safest desktop starter because Champion, Items, Runes, and Simulate stay visible.
  2. Sidebar tabs keeps the workspace calmer when you want one panel at a time.
  3. Save a default preset after the first choice if you do not want to answer again.

Find panels on mobile

The dock shows your pinned panels; All panels opens the full workspace.

  1. Champion, Abilities, Runes, and Items are pinned by default.
  2. Use All panels in the center dock button to open Simulate, Stats, stat breakdowns, or match setup.
  3. Change pinned panels from Settings when you want a damage-first mobile dock.

Damage Modeling

Understand combo damage, sustained DPS, and modeling notes.

Combo damage vs sustained DPS

Combo total is the burst number; sustained DPS is an approximation.

  1. Combo damage adds the exact steps you choose in Simulate.
  2. Sustained DPS averages ability cooldowns and should not be treated as burst parity.
  3. Use combo damage when comparing one-shot windows or short trades.

Build a starter combo

Use Auto, Q, W, E, and R chips to model a simple trade.

  1. Add steps in the order they would happen in game.
  2. Remove a chip when a step should not be part of the burst window.
  3. Champion-specific variants appear when an ability has meaningful hit-quality choices.

Read modeling notes

Notes explain modeled damage and active assumptions in plain terms.

  1. Champion notes call out damage lanes, buffs, shields, heals, and unsupported effects.
  2. Item and rune notes surface effects that are not silently counted as zero damage.
  3. If a note looks wrong, capture the build and target setup when reporting it.

Account, Sync, and Pro

What syncs today, what Pro unlocks, and what is still dev-only.

Free vs Pro

Free keeps the core builder open; Pro focuses on scale and workspace control.

  1. Free includes champion, item, rune, stats, and Simulate panels.
  2. Pro adds unlimited cloud builds, folders, grid workspace, saved layouts, and full command center.
  3. Checkout is still on the dev stack until production billing is promoted.

Cloud library sync

Signed-in libraries are account-scoped and sync through the dev backend.

  1. Your account library is separate from legacy local browser storage.
  2. Offline cached changes upload when the app can reach the backend again.
  3. Settings includes legacy import for builds found in old local storage.

Sharing and Troubleshooting

Move builds between players and recover from common empty states.

Share a build

Share codes and hosted snapshots let other players inspect your setup.

  1. Open a build row menu and choose Share.
  2. Copy a build code for portable import, or use the hosted /b snapshot link.
  3. Snapshots are read-only exports and do not expose your private library.

Import a build code

Import code is for League of Building codes and JSON exports.

  1. Open the account menu in the library when you have a code to paste.
  2. Choose Import code and paste the code you received.
  3. If import fails, confirm the sender copied the full code and try again.

Opening the build workspace directly

Recover when /app/build opens without an active saved build.

  1. Choose Create blank build to stay in the workspace and begin with champion select.
  2. Choose Open library when you meant to continue an existing saved build.
  3. If a deleted build was selected, the workspace will ask you to pick or create another build.

Why damage can look empty

Most empty damage states mean a champion, combo, or target setup is missing.

  1. Select a champion and add at least one combo step.
  2. Check ability ranks and item slots for the active loadout.
  3. Review Configuration when target armor, magic resist, or health assumptions matter.
